BlueJeans: Video Conference Rooms
I led the design and development efforts for two key projects of BlueJeans Rooms & Dolby Voice Rooms product from 0-1, from researching the problems to designing for implementation. My primary responsibility was to design streamlined, user-friendly interfaces that simplified video conferencing for both platforms, ensuring a consistent and intuitive experience for users.

Context
BlueJeans Room is a cloud-connected video room system that combines video conference and screen share solutions into the platform. The BlueJeans Rooms is making any conference room or huddle space a one-touch meeting place that’s easy to use.
Opportunity
BlueJeans Rooms is positioned to capture a significant share of the growing video conferencing market, valued at $10B. With an estimated 30–50M huddle rooms worldwide, there is a substantial opportunity to transform these spaces into intuitive, one-touch meeting hubs.
Goals
Build an MVP for a video conference room solution that establishes BlueJeans as a cornerstone of a comprehensive video conferencing ecosystem.
Research
I conducted a detailed competitor analysis to identify key opportunities such as one-click meeting joins, company calendar integration, and simplifying the installation process. These insights directly shaped our product roadmap, allowing the team to prioritize impactful features that set us apart in the competitive landscape.
Comparative analysis
To assess industry standards for conference room experiences, I analyzed competitors including Zoom, Webex, Polycom, Lifesize, GoToMeeting, and Highfive. This evaluation identified each platform's strengths and weaknesses, providing insights into areas where BlueJeans could differentiate itself and improve its offerings to better meet user needs.
This allows us to consolidate and organize documents in the same way receiving them physically would feel, while surfacing system technicalities in a subtle yet user-friendly way
To establish a clear and intuitive structure that supports seamless user interactions. The architecture incorporates third-party integrations, such as company calendar connectivity, and links directly to the Command Center, enabling efficient scheduling and management of meetings.
Final Design
Enhance the visibility of host cancellation and recommendation list guidance. Show the host cancellation and rebooking info page when a cancellation is initiated. A badge and banner will appear on the home screen and SRP pages, remaining until the user rebooks or receives a refund.
The design system established guidelines for all BlueJeans Rooms libraries, ensuring consistency and providing clear usage examples for UI components throughout the project.
BlueJeans and Dolby Voice Partnership
I collaborated with the Dolby development team to implement the Dolby Conference Phone project, seamlessly integrating the BlueJeans user experience into Dolby’s hardware for a cohesive and intuitive meeting solution.

Learning
Working on the BlueJeans Rooms MVP and Dolby partnership taught me to balance user needs with hardware constraints while designing for seamless integration. I gained valuable experience in creating scalable design systems, collaborating across cross-functional teams, and adapting designs to fit physical devices. The project reinforced the importance of user feedback and iterative improvements, resulting in a well-received product.
